Konference The Radical Right in post-1989 Central and Eastern Europe – the Role of Legacies

header_img.jpgMiroslav Mareš participated in the conference "The Radical Right in post-1989 Central and Eastern Europe - the Role of Legacies" which was held in New York between 24 and 26 April 2008. It was jointly organized by the Deutsches Haus at the New York University and the Center for European and Mediterranean Studies at the same university. Mareš's paper was entitled "Territorial claims in extreme right politics in Eastern Europe". The conference analyzed in depth the character of the radical right in Eastern Europe and the import of historical legacies on its politics. It was attended by leading experts in this field of research, namely, by the lead convener Michael Minkenberg, Cas Mudde, Herbert Kitschelt, John Ishiyama, Michael Shafir, Timm Beichelt, Michaela Grünn and a number of others. The conference will influence debates on methodology of the study of contemporary radical right.
