PhDr. Roman Chytilek, Ph.D.
Roman Chytilek is research secretary of the Institute for Comparative Political Research and odborný asistent (approx. Lecturer in the UK; Assistant Professor in the US) at the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social Studies, Masaryk University, where he is coordinator of the pathway Electoral Studies and Political Marketing in the Master's programme.In his teaching, Roman focuses on political science methodology, the study of electoral and party systems, as well as game theory. Within the Institute for Comparative Political Research, his interests include comparative study of multi-level party and electoral systems in Europe and election modelling. He was involved in the conception of the Electmach software and CODER database (http://ispo.fss.muni.cz/volebni-software). Author or co-author of four monographs and a number of other publications, in 2005 he was awarded a grant Mechanické a psychologické efekty volebních systémů (Mechanical and Psychological Effects of Electoral Systems, FRVŠ) and currently cooperates on the grant projects European Values Study and Politické strany v Africe, Asii, Latinské Americe a Oceánii (Political Parties in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Oceania). He also serves on the editorial boards of the journals Evropská volební studia (European Electoral Studies) and Sociální studia (Social Studies).
